Theme: Photographing birds of the Atlantic Forest

Location: Pousada Altos de Lumiar

Target audience: This workshop is aimed at nature lovers and beginner photographers who want to learn about the region’s birds and who want to have a basic understanding of photography, in addition to developing their eye and photographic techniques.

Workload: 6 hours with a break for lunch

Capacity: Minimum of 5 and maximum of 12 students.

Prerequisites: It is not necessary to have a camera.

9 am – Start

12:00 p.m. – Lunch

1:30 p.m. – Visit to the feeders with practical activities

3:30 p.m. – Time for questions

4:00 p.m. – Final considerations and prize draw

 

What’s included:

  • Meals: lunch and coffee break (fruit, cake, coffee, tea and juices)

Provided logistics:

  • Transportation between the Pousada and observation sites in a specialized vehicle, driven by a trained and qualified driver for birdwatching tours.
  • Photography instructor/photographer: expert in the birdlife of the Atlantic Forest and our observation sites
  • Course room: Comfortable and fully equipped for course activities
  • Leg guards provided for protection during birdwatching excursions. Must be returned at the end of the tour.

What’s not included:

  • Observation equipment: binoculars, flashlights; cameras and other gear. Each participant must carry their own observation and photography equipment
  • Travel to and from the Pousada.

  • Small groups to optimize our service (maximum 20 people; minimum 10 people).
  • Infrastructure for observing and photographing birds of excellent quality (trails, platforms, feeders, bird drinkers and hummingbird garden)
  • Multilingual staff: fluent German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, English and Portuguese.
  • Diverse birdlife, rare birds, highly attractive for bird watchers and photographers
